Partners

We’ve been visiting Bear Creek Community Church off and on for several months. From the first visit we knew that they were genuinely warm and welcoming people. It was especially gratifying that they didn’t close the door when they learned that we were planting a new church.

That’s why Bear Creek is so extraordinary. They welcomed us with open arms and asked how they could help. I told their pastor, Scott, that our intent was not to recruit their members. “we’re looking for prayer partners,” I said.

Yesterday I got to preach for them. Our whole LifeSpring core team accompanied me. Tom Bustos designed my sermon slides. It was a landmark day. Twenty-one Bear Creek members signed up to join our prayer partner team.

What a grand thing it is when disciples of Jesus join together to do great things for him without seeing it as competititon.
